Noses. Knees. Flour Fight.

Most of Blake's family on his dad's side were not able to make it to our wedding.  So, they threw a party for us this weekend.  And I mean...it was a PARTY!! We had tons and tons of food.  Potatoes.  Meat.  Fruit.  Rolls.  Cheesecake.  Salad.  Oh my goodness.  And it was all so delicious.  We played some Polish games.  Yes, polish.  I guess Polish wedding go on for two days, and they play a ton of games one of the nights for like six hours.  Well, we had the chance to play three of the games.  Here is how it all went...

1. I was sent away and blindfolded, while six guys lined up.  I was brought back and had to touch each of their noses to determine which was Blake.  Caralina (our Polish cousin-in-law?)  guided me.  I narrowed it down to two noses.....and I was a winner.  I was able to pick out which was my husbands.  Then it was Blake's turn.  He did the same instead he had to touch six girls knees.  He narrowed it down to three of us.  That was the easy part (2 of them were little girls and 1 was a man).  He then narrowed it down to me and his cousin......and couldn't get it.  We stumped him.  But, it's okay.  I forgive him.

2. Blake and I sat back to back.  I gave him one of my shoes, and he gave me one of his shoes.  We were asked a series of questions and had to raise the shoes of that person that we thought was a better fit.  Questions like: Who is the better driver?  Who said I love you first?  Who spends more?  Who will be in charge of the money?  Who usually starts the fights first?  Who will be the one to take out the trash?  Who usually is first to say "I am sorry."?  Who will be the one to do the dishes?  Who is a better dancer?  And so on.  (I still don't know what he answered, but I have an idea by how the family was laughing.)

3. A $5 bill was put at a table.  Blake and I sat across from each other.  We were to both blow at the money.  If the money landed on my side because Blake blew harder then he was going to be in charge of the finances.  But, if I blew harder and the money ended up on his side, then I would be in charge of the finances.  So, they gave us a practice round.  Then came the blindfolds.  3-2-1 BLOW!! I guess I blew harder and Blake was quick to figure out that there was not a $5 bill there.  Next thing I knew he was throwing flour at me.  So I joined in on it.  And started to throw it back.  (I wish I had a picture of what we looked like.  Covered in flour.)

We had a fun weekend spending time with all of Blake's family.  They are all fun, beautiful, and kind people.  It is great getting to know them better.

The jobs of a wife...

I have come to learn that as a wife I have more responsibilities than I thought.  And I have been slowly discovering this, but after a weekend up in Ogden I have come to find out the truth about my "jobs" as a wife.  The list is as follows....(and is not yet complete)
1. Remind hubby to cut his toenails/finger nails
2. Remind hubby to bring church shoes on weekend getaways
3. Remind hubby to brush his teeth.
4. Remind hubby to shave. (so that he doesn't get in trouble at work)
5. Remind hubby to wear his wedding ring on his LEFT hand (he still gets a little confused)
Once we both come up with more....I will have to write about them.
I really do enjoy being a wife...but I had no idea I had to remind him on so many things.  I need to start training myself to remember.

Hunting...

Right now we are currently hunting for a new apartment.  We have a nice place in Pleasant Grove, but we only have it until August 1.  So we desperately need to find a new place to live as of then.  Finding a new place is not the easiest to do.  Especially when you want to stay on the cheaper side.  Preferably under the $600 range.  More like $550.  Or even $500.  You get my point.  The cheaper the better.   But, we still want it to be a decent place.  I guess my point is....if you know of any places in the Provo  area----feel free to help us out.  Thanks!!

iPhone Pictures: I

1. Blake and I went grocery shopping for the first time together as a married couple.
As we went down our first aisle he picked us twinkie and donettes and said
"Take a picture of me and send it to your mom!"
Oh who couldn't love this man?
He is hilarious.
Don't worry mom....we didn't get them.
 2. Last week I came home from work late (11:30), and I was so tired.
I came home to a sweet note from Blake.
I didn't know I snored...
Maybe its because sometimes I can't breath through my nose.
 3. I have the honor of babysitting a couple of times during the week.
(I sure missed being able to babysit.)
These two little girls are adorable and I love being able to spend time with them.
On Friday night we went and got ice cream together.
 4. Saturday was a fun day with some of Blake's family.
We went to Seven Peaks and then had a picnic in the park.
It was so fun spending time with them.
And there is little Sophie crawling all over Blake.
She sure loves her uncle.
5. After our fun day at seven peaks, I started to not feel very well.
My throat was feeling sore.
I told my husband I wasn't feeling well.  He told me that I needed orange juice.
We went to Target on our way home to pick some up.
And what do you know....my throat doesn't hurt anymore.
Husband knows best!!

Fathers Day Dinner

Although we were not able to spend Father's Day with our dads...we still celebrated.
Heidi and Steven came over for some dinner.
Blake and I tried out a new recipe for Balsamic Chicken. And it was delicious.
We added some red potatoes, veggies, bread, watermelon, and cantaloupe to complete the meal.
This meal was super easy and I suggest that everyone tries it.
(Recipe will be posted at the end of this post.)

Anyways, Father's Day was so great!! But it would have been even better if we were able to celebrate with our dads.  They are both so amazing and special. We admire their hard work and love for the gospel.  I think I can speak for the both of us when I say: We are both so lucky to have these two men in our lives.  (And their wives, of course.)
We love you all!!

Alright, now for the Balsamic Chicken recipe.  Here is how simple it is...

Ingredients:
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 cup balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing
3 cloves of minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper
Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:
1. Place chicken breasts in a zip-top plastic bag.
2. Combine balsamic vinaigrette, garlic and crushed red pepper and pour over chicken.
3. Seal bag and refrigerate for 1-4 hours (the longer, the better).
4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Remove chicken from bag and place in a baking dish.  Pour remaining marinade over chicken.  Season with salt and pepper.
5. Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until juices run clear.
(Or you can grill the chicken over medium heat for 5-7 minutes on each side.)

It was a Beautiful day.

I really miss our wedding day.  When I tell Blake that I miss our wedding day he says, "You don't want to go through all of that planning again, do you?" And I definitely do not (and I bet my mother doesn't either).  But, I would love to relive our wedding day again.  The sealing was beautiful.  And the reception was so fun.  I wish we could have more time to enjoy the reception.  Everything was perfect!! It turned out better than I imagined.  (Quick shout out to all of those that helped with it. Thank you!!)  Anyway, our wedding was such a wonderful day.  I will never forget it.  Plus, I had (and still have) the most handsome groom ever.  I am one lucky bride.

Photobooth

At our wedding we had a photobooth.  Lots of our family and friends had fun with it.  And so did we.  We got to sneak over there for a few minutes and take some pictures.

Thanks to all for making this day so much fun!!

Honeymoon Part III

In Puerto Vallarta we got off the boat and walked about twenty minutes to a beach.  The water is so warm, and we had a beautiful view.  At night we took a boat over to a private beach called Las Caletas.  There we had dinner on the beach.  (You know how they do it in the Bachelor and in movies? Yeah that was us.)  We walked around this beautiful location and then had a show.  It was hot and humid, but a great excursion.
