Hospital visit #2
The day before thanksgiving was quite eventful. I woke up that morning with my back killing me. In the exact spot it had before because of the kidney stones. As the day went on it just got worse. And on top of that I thought I had a bladder infection. After being in pain, I received a priesthood blessing from my husband and dad. It helped me to feel calm. I called my doctors office to tell them how I was feeling and they told me to go to urgent care since I was in California. Blake and I left shortly after. I told the doctor there that I found out a couple months ago that I had kidney stones. As soon as I said that she looked at the chart and told me she would be back in a minute. She came back to tell me that from the urine sample it looks like I might have a kidney infection. Because of that, being pregnant, and having kidney stones I had to be sent to the ER. Well start the tears. I was scared as to what was happening. Blake and I went home to get my mom and the three of us trekked over to the hospital. When we got there they told me I had to be sent to labor and delivery. Which I figured would happen since I was 29 weeks. It took them a while to get me in because they had no rooms available. Once they did I was put into one of there smallest rooms. But whatever- there were so many women having babies. And I wasn't, so it seemed fair. They did a blood sample and urine sample to test for the infection. Came back that yes I indeed had a kidney infection. I knew this was not good and could be harmful to me and the baby if something did not happen soon. They told me that I needed to stay overnight so that they could get me hydrated on an IV and get some antibiotics in me right away to kick the infection. After a somewhat sleepless night for both Blake and I, they did one more IV antibiotic and then the ER labor and delivery doctor came to check on me to see how I was doing. I had been in pain but was given pain killers to help. Food made me feel nauseous so I had not eaten a lot. After a total of 2 blood samples and 2 sticks of the IV (because the first one came out of the vein, made me hyperventilate because my hang and arm was swelling up and I had no feeling) we were able to go home at 11:30 am on Thanksgiving day. Oh how I was glad that is over with. Except the next day, the kidney stone pain came back in the evening. It was the most excruciating pain I have ever had and been through. My family and Blake had no idea how to help me. I had no idea how to help me. All I wanted to do was scream and cry and punch a pillow. But they were all wonderful in helping comfort me. I received another blessing from my husband, dad, and two brother in laws. Boy was that priesthood blessing powerful! I was able to sleep pretty good that night and felt much better the next day. Since then I have felt the pain on and off but never as bad as it was that week. It's hard to say when the pain will come as bad as it was. I am hoping these stones will pass when this baby girl decides to join us. Thank you to all that have prayed for me and have been thinking of me. I have felt peace and comfort. I love you all!
Baby shower
My sisters and mom threw me a wonderful baby shower while we were all there during Thanksgiving week. It was wonderful and beautiful. I feel so blessed that so many friends and family could make it. I can already are how much this little girl is loved by so many. Thank you to all who attended.

Halloween
I have never been a fan of Halloween. And now that I am a teacher- I decided I really really am not a fan. Halloween is one of the craziest holidays at school. I am sure you can imagine why. But- we had fun in our classes that day. The kids were "for-the-most-part" well-behaved. We made slime, watched a movie, and did a fun Halloween packet. And, of course, I forgot to get a picture with my 2 classes. Oops!
Later than day we had some fun with our friends house. Dinner, desserts, handing out candy, and a movie. It was a good time! But- I don't have many pictures of that either. So here is what I have....

Oh hello hospital...
Yesterday was a whirlwind of a day.
I ended up in labor and delivery to be checked out for preterm labor. I had been having cramping on and off that was painful. But also back pain. Very severe back pain. After talking to a nurse at my doctors office, she suggested to go into labor and delivery. So- when we got there they hooked me up for some tests. They found no contractions. But we did get to listen to our baby girls heartbeat for about an hour. After some different tests and procedures, they came to a conclusion that I had either a urinary tract infection or kidney stones. After the nurses had talked to my doctor, he wanted me to have an ultrasound to make sure my cervix was not thinning. So down we went to the ultrasound tech. He checked my kidneys, my cervix, and our sweet baby girl. He says it looks like she is going to have long legs. It was reassuring to see our baby girl and hear her heartbeat yesterday. Everyone kept telling us that baby girl still sounds beautiful and everything is good with her. Suddenly- instead of thinking so much about myself and what I was going through....I was completely overwhelmed with gratitude that our baby girl was still healthy and doing okay.
After we returned to my room- we waited for about an hour to get the results back from my urine sample and ultrasound. It turns our I have a lot of fluid in my right kidney and most likely a kidney stone in there. After leaving the hospital, we went to my doctors office to get some prescriptions for the pain of the kidney stones, and then antibiotics for a possible UTI. My doctor said hopefully all of the pain will leave in 3-4 days and I can pass this stone very soon. If it doesn't get better then I will be sent to see a urologist. After being at the hospital and doctors for about 5 hours, we were happy to be home.
I am doing okay now. The pain isn't as bad. But, boy when that pain comes it is the worst. I can't help but cry, cringe, and hope for it to go away soon. I am grateful that my baby girl is okay. And so grateful for all the prayers that were sent our way by family yesterday. We felt our heavenly fathers love and family's love the entire day.
Baby bump pictures
I guess I haven't posted my latest baby bump pictures. So, here they are...
(the belt makes me look huge)
I LOVE having a baby bump. It's amazing to me that my body can grow a human. Being a woman is incredible!
We can hardly wait to meet this sweet baby girl.
Hogle zoo
A few weeks ago, we packed some lunches and made our way out to Salt Lake City to go to the Hogle Zoo with some of our closest friends. We spent the majority of the day there and had a blast seeing all of the different animals! My personal favorite.....the elephants! I just think they are simply beautiful and amazing. I could watch them all day.

It's A......
GIRL!!
On Monday, we had our 20 weeks ultrasound appointment. (Well, it was my 18 weeks 6 days appointment.) When we entered the room, I told the technician that we did not want to be told the gender at our appointment. She told me she would write it down for us and seal it in an envelope. The second that the ultrasound started, I got teary eyed. It was so amazing to see all the little parts of our baby. Blake was there with me and so was my mom. I loved having them there in the room with me. It was such a neat experience. The technician was trying to figure out the gender of our baby, but our baby was being stubborn. The cord was wrapped between the legs, and this baby wouldn't move enough to get the cord out, so that the technician could see. So, we decided it would be a good idea for me to get up and walk up and down the halls and do a few jumping jacks. Well, I did just that because I wanted to know the gender of this baby. I came back into the room, and the technician said she was 90% sure of the gender, and by the end if she wasn't 100% sure then they would have me come back for a follow up a different day. But, we left with an envelope in hand. Everything looks good with our sweet baby. The doctor said that the heartbeat is at about 160 and that everything is beautiful. I love hearing our doctor say that! We got back for another appointment in 3 weeks. I love going to my appointments and hearing our baby's heartbeat. Its just amazing!
We are beyond excited to welcome this sweet baby girl into our family at the beginning of February. We feel so blessed! This little girl is already so loved by many.
