Blake turns 24
Happy birthday to my wonderful husband {yesterday}. 24. To celebrate I surprised him with getting a pedicure. He took me to do something I've never done for my birthday, so I decided to take him to do something he has never done for his birthday. I think he really enjoyed it deep down inside. After we went to get sushi. Well he got sushi. I got a teriyaki chicken bowl. I surprised him again with friends meeting us for lunch. And then we met up with friends later that evening. Of course we sang to Blake with candles in a delicious spice cake iced with cream cheese frosting. No other way to do it! So glad I get to celebrate birthdays with my sweetheart. I can't wait for many more celebrations to come. I love you Blake!
Ice cold what?
Since Friday morning we have had a broken water heater. It's awful! This means....ABSOLUTELY NO HOT WATER!! How does one survive? Well....a great sister and friends. I took one cold shower. Freezing cold. I don't recommend it to anyone. Blake is more used to it than I am because of his mission. I didn't do so well with a freezing shower. Thank you to those who let me bum off them. Good news though....a handyman finally came to look at it tonight. He said there is definitely something wrong with our water heater. Thanks handyman. Now please fix it. I would really appreciate that.
First weeks of school
Sometimes I still can't believe I am a teacher. My own 24 students. My own classroom. I am a teacher! It's such a great career. I look forward to seeing my kids everyday. Even though they can drive me crazy sometimes. I really do adore them. I hope they like me too. Being a teacher is such a rewarding job. Even though its only been 9 school days- I can see it already. I can't wait to see where my kids are at the end of the school year. One of my favorite parts is when my students say they love coming to class and they like their teacher. You don't hear that all the time. Some days are long and hard, but I always think of how great my job really is. The long hours don't matter when it comes down to helping my students learn and have a good time. I love being a school teacher.
